The Fridge Pic project was an interactive exhibit that transformed a vintage refrigerator into a solar powered public camera displayed on Michigan Avenue to promote recycling and renewable energy. The project was commissioned by ComEd as part of a promotional campaign to bring awareness to their refrigerator recycling program.
Fridge Pic was on display from July through August 2012 at 400 North Michigan Avenue and snapped over 12,000 photos and generated nearly 50,000 website views. The result of the installation was a catalogue of photos documenting a wide variety of people, including Chicagoans of various demographics and tourists from around the world who interacted with the exhibit.
