DesignBridge was selected by ENLACE Chicago in an invited competition to lead the design and the adaptive reuse of the Paderewski Learning Academy; an abandoned elementary school located in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood on the southwest side of Chicago. The proposed design is planned to house offices for ENLACE, a Gads Hill Childcare Center, and an Instituto Del Progreso Latino High School. These varied community-based entities come together in a series of new shared facilities that include a public gallery, auditorium and classroom space.
